| whats the best budget lipo charger out now that will be able to handle everything?
i want to be able to charger batts for my 2.2 all the way down to the micro t batts which are as small as 150mAh 2s 7.4v. I already have a volt meter so having a display isn't a must have for me but wouldn't hurt. Of course with lipo, safety is a concern, it will be charged indoors, so i am not excited about experimental stuff. I am new to lipo. Tower emailed me a deal for $20 off $50, so if they have one that would be great or if a vendor on here can help me that would work as well. |

I like my Onyx 230 a lot, but you will need to spend another $30 bucks or so for the balancer that plugs into it.

any thoughts on this one? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15225 after reading the reviews of it, seems like a bit of modding (which i like to do anyway!), should make it a good all around charger. do most of them require a seperate power supply? i take it using an old atx psu would be a cheap way to go? |

Yes you can mod an old CPU power supply. But using a cheap power supply will give poor voltage on the 12v rails. Try to get a high quality power supply: This guys is selling some very powerful power supplies: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...light=hyperion You can check this out, he mods power supplies for you: http://www.jackedupcustoms.com/ And check ebay, there are some good deal to be had on there. |

Onyx 230 has been working great for all my needs. Don't be fooled by all the balancing hype.... you don't need it!

I have seen many locals run a whole season of racing without ever balancing. Some have checked them just to see how out of balance they really are.... it was a very small amount, if any!! Insane.... all the people dropping hard earned money on stuff they don't need? That is insane! I have never used super cheap(ebay) lipos either...? |
