Default DX6 for crawler?

I've been offered a Spektrum DX6 in trade for something, but isn't that an Air Transmitter?

I've wanted a 6-channel controller for a while now, and a spektrum (after poking one guy in the eye at the Midwest challenge... Sorry dude!) would be really nice.

But I'm a little concerned about it interfering with airplane guys..

Also, what Rx's could I use with it? I've never owned a spektrum before. What do I need to know?

2.4ghz is for air or ground. Your receiver binds with your transmitter so you can have 23023943095320492301 people with a DX6 at one location and all of them can be turned on at the same time and they wont cause problems with each other.

The only thing you have to be aware of is that Spektrum Air and Spektrum Land do not inter-operate together. So you'll have no issues running as everyone stated, but your RX purchases will all need to be from the Spektrum AIR product family.

IMHO, that's actually a pretty good thing, there is a lot of AIR rx's and they make some small lightweight and even better - inexpensive RX's for the AIR side.

If you get it, might I advise the voltage regulator mod?

I say go for it. I like my DX6i a lot. As has been said, the receiver will only take signals from the transmitter to which it is bound, so interference is virtually impossible. Sounds nice doesn't it?

Doing the voltage regulator mod and adding a lipo pack will give you more run time than you could ever want. The mod is very easy to do and takes literally 5 mins.
