Default servo noise

I searched for noisy or ticking servos but did not come up with much.

I have a Hitec 7955 and I just got my kid a Hobbico CS170 (same thing) and they are the noisiest things I have ever herd.

What causes all the ticking popping crackling? They are like a really loud bowl of rice crispy's all the time. even with nothing hooked up they are at it.

Thanks

It's actually closer to the same as the older 5955 servo's from what I've read, which if you ever used one will just about drive you nuts with all the noise. The newer 7955's are much, much......much quieter than the 5955's were. Basically it's most likely something that's normal out of that Hobbico servo that you will just have to learn to deal with.

They are both really noisy. The Hobbico is the exact same servo as the 7955.

And like I said they make that noise weather or not anything is hooked up to them or not. You can feel them pulsing just sitting there.

They are both at 6.0v from a CC bec and have made the noises right out of the box.

They work perfectly fine. I just want to know if they are going to self destruct or is this normal?

Hmm, my 7955's are really quiet, but yes though for the most part any digital servo is noisy. Maybe I just got use to how bad the 5955's were, and since the 7955's are quieter I don't notice them at all.

They're digital servos so they will emit a noise when trying to find center. Digital servos will constantly try to find center and will make a noise because of it. No worries on the noises they're making because it's natural for them to do so, just double check they are not making noise because your epa's are set incorrectly.

that noise is from the servos trying to center themselves
