| decent radio?
Hello, I am completely new to this hobby, I mean brand spankin' new, and I dont know shit! Nada, nothing, zip, zero. Actually this is my very first post here. Anyway ive been trolling the site cramming my brain with info so when I ask a question I wont sound like a completely braindead dumbass! Anyway I just bought my first truck, an SCX10, and now in the process of equiping it with all the goodies to make it run. Woo hoo! By the way I dont have a damn thing as far as parts or tools goes, hell, I dont even know what Im doing yet! I saw a lady selling a radio/reciever on craigslist that I thought about buying to run my truck but I would like to here some opinions on it. Its a XS3PRO JR. thanks everybody. ps- does this forum have a classifieds section?? |

I would recommend a Futaba 3PK or 4PK if you have the money or Spektrum dx3r's are good too..And yes there is a classifieds section located at the very bottom of the bulletin board list.

I use an Artronics MX3 Fm radio end point adj & a 2 positon 3rd channel.that said I don't like the long fm antena, so if i had a choice I would go with a radio with 2.4 ghz and a three position 3rd channel.I dont know witch one's have that 3rd channel Futaba/Spectrum i haven't looked because I would push the order now button.

welcome Chevy, the xs3pro is a good radio but...... depending on the price i would sway you away from it. it is basically the same radio as the DX3.0 except it has a nifty little neoprene grip on the handle and isn't 2.4Ghz. (worth the extra money? no) usually for a little bit more you can find a DX3 (not 3.0). the DX3 has the 3 position 3rd channel that you'll want for a dig or winch. as Jeepial said, the Futaba radios are great. also, if you're looking for new, you may look at the spektrum DX3R. the classifieds are not avaliable to you yet. you have to either have 30 days and 30 posts or buy a star. if you want to know more about that please click on the Forum Rules button at the top of the page. hope this helps |
