Well I got my MAXX crawler done & ready for it's shake down. Plugged it all together & after about a minute the front servo started smoking I'm running a SR, 2 5955TG servos, silver can motor, GD600, SMC3800 This sucks Brand new $100 servo fried just like that Anyone have this happen or know what could have caused this? Would Hitech warrenty this? Thanks :? |

I hope to GOD that the waranty covers that give them a call.. if you do some searching on that servo on the site I believe I have read about people smoking them when runing 2 of those with that same setup .. Im runing the same servo and I would flip if it were to fry good luck to you Arrrghh! 5995TGs Pissing me off! http://www.hitecrcd.com/cgi-bin/ulti...?ubb=forum;f=3 service@hitecrcd.com 858.748.8440 |

they will warrenty. I bet they had a bad initial batch, as a few did fry. There should be no reason for it with your setup though. I would worry about the SR's BEC overheating and frying before the servo. Call Hitec and get a new one. |

What radio and reciever are you running?? That will matter more than motor, gear reduction and batteries. Perhaps you had the wires mixed and caused the servo to fry...maybe? How were your EPA settings adjusted? Does your radio have EPA settings? If not, you might want to pony up for a radio that allows you to adjust the EPA, it'll help save servos and keep them happier. | |

I have a JR xs3 pro. The servos are run of a 5-cell rx pack. the harness for the batt. to servo is staight from my TLT that no longer has 4ws. It worked on the TLT so I have no reason to believe that's the prob. I did set all the EPA's first w/o the Moabs on. Then took a little run down the hall. The turning radius isn't that good so I did an Austin Powers type turn, like a 8-point turn or something, then poof.

I've never had any luck with the 59 series servos from Hitec. I've had 5 just fry or stop working.
