Default lipo mah after sharge

Hey guys, I have a question, I have a maxampps 3s 3000mah lipo. after i run it till the lvc comes on and i charge it it says it is only holding around 1750 mah to 2000mah.

I know that i am only discharging it to the safe limit. so does that mean to get all 3000mah out of it i would have to discharge it till it was dead? or is the 3000mah the amount it is safe to discharge from it?

It's not holding 1750-2000mah, that's what your charger is putting back into it. That must be giving you pretty good run times. If you were to completely drain your lipo, you would completely ruin it. It's a good thing your lipo cut off kicks in.

Might want to double check your cutoff. I am running some 3s 910 mah packs on my rig. I have a Rooster Crawler so I dont run the cutoff because its too low and would be pointless. I run my packs till they dump. I am not hugely worried because theyre $25 packs. But I have never discharged the pack lower than 8.5 volts using this method. A little lower than the recommended cutoff, but when I recharge, I have my Duratrax Ice set for 900 mah (100mah increments) and 110% charge capacity. They bring back 940 - 960 mah on average and get around 12-12.5 volts.

If your letting the LVC trip and it doesnt take at least 3000... somethings wrong. All quality packs will peak several 100mah past the capacity on the label. Make sure you sont have a time setting too low or something else on the charger.

The LVC kicks in when the voltage hits 9.0 volts under load. After you hit that point and let the pack sit it will recover and the voltage will go back up. There is no timer setting on the 0606i charger. What are you using this 3S 3000 pack in??

Well there's your problem. Your running a pack that is rated for 60 amps constant in a system that will run 80 amps plus. Your trashing that pack. That's why your LVC is kicking in so early and then showing you 11 volts when you unhook. There's nothing wrong with the pack at all other than that your system is to much for it. You should be running a 3S 5250 in that thing.

Or at least nothing smaller than a 3S 4000.

If you keep using that pack you'll ruin it.

what about in a full vxl system? vxl rustler? vxl speedo and motor?

How is that pack not rated high enough for a mm and vxl motor? I guess i didn;t know that was a 60amp pack. what would you suggest I use it in?

The pack you have is a 20C 3000 it's rated for 60 amps max continuous draw. The VXL motor whether being supplied by a Mamba Max esc or a VXL esc is a motor that will do 80 plus amps all the time. It should say right on your pack the max constant C rate unless the sticker is gone. For a great high speed pack I would look at the 3S 5250 I link to in my previous post. It'll make your slash fly if you can get it to hook up.
