| 2/3 nimh, regular nimh cells Im confused Im gonna get flamed in this section But,,Can someone explain this to me? 2/3 cells,,Im reading you charge them at a low amp rate .5-1.5 amps and I am reading they are a bit smaller than sub c's,,less weight ? and 1500mah capacity? Tell me why people are using them over regular Nimh cells that I can charge at 3 to 5 amps? and have a 3000 - 4700mah rating? and seem tough as nails to me ? |

One simple reason is that they are smaller and take up less room. I made my self AA nimh 2700 hump packs for my truck and they work great. If you make you own packs it will save you. I payed 40$ for my three packs that would have cost 45$ per pack at cheap battery packs 135$

in a nut shell- charge rate is selected by the mah rating of the cell.

Because those big ass cells won't fit on a proper comp crawler. 2/3 cells are much easier to fit. Plus we crawlers don't need hours of runtime from a crawler pack. Also, they are just too damn heavy. Add all these things up and it is easy to see why we use the smaller cells. Now if you don't comp and just want some long runtimes you can do it if you can fit the sub C's on there. | |
