Default 10c with rooster & bushed 55t ?!??oneż/?1!

I see many dirt cheap name brand batteries that are 10c and in interesting dimensions that I'd try, but is 10c really enough for crawling?

No.

Lets say you have a 1500 10C pack. That is only 15 amps available and that is not nearly enough IMO.

I agree with Scatt...10C is simply too low for crawling applications. I would suggest looking at 20C minimum and begin your search there.

I just picked up a few Holmes Hobbies 1300 in both 2S and 3S, and the pricing on the packs, along with the ratings, is hard to beat in my opinion.

$27.95 for the 2S and $39.95 for the 3S, both 25C with a 35C burst rate.

The price you pay with the inexpensive Lipo packs isn't just the dollar amount; it's usually a shorter life span as well, and you know that John stands behind what he sells

yeah, people have nothing but really good things to say about him.
He answered a couple questions for me last year as well, I believe
he's soon gonna get a pile of my money.

I have read that a 55T Lathe motor will pull about 12amps.....and a good steering servo will pull 3amps - 5 amps. This would be at the limit of your inexpensive battery...if not over the limit. If you also had a dig servo, that would push you even further.

That all being said, last year some of our members were running 10C - 15C burst small 900mah lipos on 55T Integy motors thru a mamba max and with Hitec 5955 steering servos and micro dig servos....and it worked. I would not do this in my rig, but it worked for them.

This year I have been testing some inexpensive Lipos that are 1500mah 20C 3 Cell on my Dual Sidewinder Dual 55T with a 5955 servo, and they are holding up well.

From experience and from being on a budget I know for fact a 10c will work fine. I have been using an electrifly 1650maH 8C for some time now with decent run time and plenty of power. I also have a 20c 2000maH pack. There is no crawling, obstacle or situation that I have ran into yet that the 8C would not do vs. the 20c.

These trucks are not speed demons and do not require very large continous or burst draws.

If budget is your concern I say go for it. You can get two or three batts for the price of one.

With that said...If I were competing vs. backyard crawling I would run my 20C.

Good Luck.

By the way...I have the rooster crawler esc and 55t motor.
