Default Servo without BEC

I'm fixing to add a JR9110t servo to my axial, with CC Sidewinder, and 3S lipo for battery. My motor is only a 55t. I also have a CC BEC which I have yet to install. My question is what would happen if I wanted to see how strong this servo is without installing the BEC? Will it smoke my ESC? or Will it just operate at a < 6v rate?

the sidewider has a rather weak BEC and it may shut down the esc when your trying to turn your tires under a load. It won't smoke it but it might not work while trying to steer. Just take the ten minutes it takes to install the castle bec and be done with it.

Just install the Castle BEC. The Sidewinder has a weak internal bec, even weaker when run on 3S lipo.

And it is not the voltage you have to worry about, it is the terribly weak amperage that the internal bec supplies. The higher the input voltage, the lower the amperage output.
