3ch radio mod or just which one is good?

is there a way to take a plain 2ch 2 stick radio and add a channel?

i thought about a plain 4ch 2 stick but i dont know if i can use it. I had a cheapo plane and had trouble with wanting to move one stick forward and also moving it to the side also.

if no answer to the others then which radio is good for driving and just a winch? probably will never go to a comp but would like it to be comp able.

thought about tq3 modded.

I like the MX-3. Its a 3chnl but you can mod it like this http://www.rccrawler.com/mx3.htm for dig but the MX-3 has a two position 3rd channel switch.

IMO the TQ3 is a piece of garbage. The one that came with my T-maxx didn't last long before it started glitching and losing signal. I don't really see the need for a high dollar radios for a crawler and many other R/Cs and I have one high dollar radio.
