| Broke my TP 945
Well my TP 945 broke the shaft that is attached to the motor, so it time for a new servo, not another band-aid. So now I am after one that will hold up I have been looking at the JR 8711 or the hitec 7955tg. From what I have read there warranty's are both 3 years and they are close enough in price once your spending over a hundred whats $30-40 more, for more torque. Any thoughts on which one I should buy? Or is it more of a preference on these two servos? This looks like a typo? Really more torque at less power? I'd agree with Eeep on the 8711, I've been running them in my 2.2's since they first came out over a couple of years ago |

I'd also go with the JR DS8711. Mine has survived many 15 to 20 ft tumbles off of the local cliffs without any servo saver to protect the gears; and this is in a heavy Killer Krawler. The servos are directly connected to the steering links with a JR metal servo horn. To further attest to the durability of this servo, my Baja 5B has been converted to use a DS8711 for steering and it has held up beautifully after over a year of mild bashing and occassional abusive driving. Although the Baja has a servo saver, the fact that a standard servo has survived steering duties in a 38 pound RC vehicle is commendable. A picture of my 5B and why it's now 38 pounds... |
