| AI Runner Reverse http://h1069494.hobbyshopnow.com/pro...od=ASCLRP83010 Has anybody run an AI runner reverse. I am running a single lathe motor. I want somthing with instant reverse. It also says the BEC is 5.0v, that should be enough, but thats all the specs i could find. Thanks Rockwag |

The AI's have reverse delay, and since it automatically sets itself up, you can't disable it. Just something to think about.

DO NOT USE THIS ESC... i bought it and sent it back to tower it was so bad... the throtle curve was HORID and there was a HUGE delay between forward and reverse.... u would be better off with a regular Runner Pluss reverse... thats what i use. it will run one hs645 fine but willnot run 2

| no AI!!
I am using the bullet in my clod based crawler with 2 lathe motors and have had very poor results. It will swith the throttle and brake right in the middle of the run. It happens EVERY time I run. I was told that the amount of rf noise that twin motors puts out breaks the signal just long enough for the esc to reset itself. I love lrp stuff but this is just a bad fit.

im prety shure the lrp runner plus esc's go straight forward to reverse, at least when i used it in my pede if i would hit reverse to much the truck would spin out because the tires would be spinning backwards.

My brother have had the Runner Reverse (same blue color as mine, just smaller) for a while now in his Tamiya hummer (single 540engine) and it has fast response. You have to double tapp reverse to put it in reverse... first pull back is the brakes, second is reverse, if he double taps the reverse he can get instant reverse... it seams to be a question of learning how it works in real life, and what i have tested i cant complain about anything. Just works perfect on his hummer, no heat problem, and if used correctly instant reverse. That's also why i was fairly confident to buy one my self for my Tamiya TXT-1, i got the Automatic Reverse Pro AI, and on that one i know i can get instant reverse. When driving fast forward and only push the reverse gently a tiny bit i feel a good brake function, if i pull fast and more on the reverse the tires spinns backwards and the truck stopps directly. And with my two stock 540engines i can barely feel any heat at all even after a long hard climbing with the truck, but im using separate battery for the rx and servos ;) If i would start to feel that my esc gives me problems i will get either the best m-tronik or the best novak, but so far so good And lrp are a very respected brand... even if it's made by germans ;) i am just kidding, nothing wrong with german quality. So i can only recomend these esc's, i can't agree with some saying that these AI esc's create problems, i have had no problems so far at all, and neither have my brother, and we use them to the extreme every time. What i read and noticed is that they are great performers, the elite is what i know Novak,LRP,M-Tronik, those are the best of the best in my personal opinion based on reading just about everything there is about it, and a little experience myself and friends. lol I know what you mean, everytime i want to take the car out for a drive, i have to ask the ESC for permission Only thing that's missing is AI steering to, then i will probably never see that truck ever again |

I have the Quantum Reverse speedo instead of an AI Reverse so I can not testify about the AI specifically. I will however express my opinion that a speedo with an automatic reverse plus the reverse delay feature like these two have is not very good for this sport. I have flipped my truck over many times because reverse has unexpectedly come to life while I was trying to slow the truck down while driving down an incline. Just my 2 cents. Merrixs |
