Default The hunt for an esc.....

..that can handle dual batteries (14.4v+) and has BRAKES. Are there any out there? Does the new evx2 come with brakes? I currently run the original evx esc with two 4000mah 7.2's on my heavyweight 1/6 but the lack of braking is causing alot of damage. I can't do any major hill climbs cuz i'll end up rolling down if i have to stop. Lookin for something with brakes.....

Doesn't that have the same "smart braking" as the original evx? it slows it to a stop before engaging reverse, which isn't exactly braking. Mine does that now but it still rolls down a hill cuz the brakes simply SUCK.

I'm running 12 cells with my Mamba Max, and loving it! Good brakes, brushed or brush less, programmable, what's not to love

Well braking is slowing/stopping the vehicle. You don't want to skip braking and go straight into reverse. The Novak SD has reverse disable too. Thing with anything Novak is they don't have the programability of the Castle and Tekin ESCs. (Tekin has a model comparable to the Mamba Monster) Can program about anything with them. Sounds like your after drag braking capabilities which I don't think the Novak SD offers.

Motors might need upgrading to to help out the drag brake, like installing extra heavy brush springs if you have brushed motors.
