Default Getting more than 25-35 ft range ?

I just installed an FXR Combo in the WK this morning and tried to run the antenna along the frame instead of outside the body . Now, I can only get around 25-35 ft. away and the glitching starts .
I tried two receivers and I get about the same range .
How far of range are you guys getting ?
Any tricks ?
I want to get the dorky antenna on the inside but if this is all the further range I can get , I will put up with it .
Thanks,
Raz

I had the stock HPI that came with the WK and now I have a Tower hobbies 3000 which I think is made by Futaba.

without the 2.4 thats about as good as it gets. Mine is only good for 6 feet. I'm running a futaba fm heli radio. I wish I could get 35 feet away without the truck driving itself lol

AM radios are extremely picky about how the antennas are routed. You'll have to get it up in the air away from any metal frame/chassis parts, the ESC, servo wires, and battery and motor wires.
