Default MM+45T=smoke...help!!

put my electronics in my losi 1/10 crawler over the weekend, went to run it today and after a minute or two I noticed a little smoke coming off the motor......also noticed some "motor stall',and it wasn't bound up too hard, not pegging the throttle while a wheel was locked in a hole.

the setup MM,45t,CC bec,18t pinion,11.1 1100 lipo, using a dx11... this setup was in my rockstar chassis with no problems, the only difference was a 55t and pinion.the motor is at 0 degrees timing and is new but cut on the lathe. so any ideas why it would be smoking??

and no there is no binding in the driveline

possibly the 45t was crap. Put the 55t in it and see if it does the same thing.

Most everyone is having trouble with this roller I have been told there is way to much bind in the drive train and thats a major cause of motor and esc failure
my son has smoked 2 brushed motors
I am running a brush less system and it is cogging and stalling out due to the bind it is encountering
s helps some
hope this helps

this crawler is meant for high speed motors because of the worm gears it needs at least a 35 turn that is REALLY fast like 3s lipo so it doesnt overheat

x2! They say (Losi) to not run anything but a 35t and lower.....the worm axles are going to cause this (Heat) to happen....

Good ol Losi smoke. :-( Them worm gears need some power to turn them. Good Brushless system on 3s/4s seems to be the answer.
