[Losi MRC] ESC Waterproofing Gone Wrong?

-Losi MRC: stock electronics + CC BEC

Confession: after attempting to help waterproof a Losi MRC's ESC with silicone, it will only power up if the CC BEC is plugged into the Rx as normal and the ESC's red(+) wire is once again plugged into the Rx (it was disconnected via a jumper because of the CC BEC install instructions). The LED is green when powered on this way and the rig functions. The little power switch now does nothing; and the reset switch works as it should. Weird?

It will run (for now?), but at what cost to the Rx and/or CC BEC? I had planed on upgrading electronics anyway, but not quite yet. Damn...
Dumb ass.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the BEC is fried.
