The length of the antenna is (or at least could be) tuned to the wavelength its intended for. The difference between a 72mhz antenna and a 75mhz antenna should be marginal, so if you notice any difference it'll be slightly shorter range and possibly worse glitching, like running with the antenna retracted. It's unlikely that it would cause any irreversible damage, so go on and give it a try Unless the threads that hold the antenna on are different. Don't go forcing it on |

| I spoke to smiley a few weeks ago about this very subject... as already mentioned the lengths(tuned length) is different so you will see some reduced range and most likely GLITCHING at all ranges. This glitching the very reason smiley does NOT recommend using a duck on a pistol grip radio... they say the way the signal presents vertically from a pistol grip radio reduces range and causes GLITCHING when using a duck. I was actually going to try it out by holding the radio more like a Plane/heli radio and see how it works out... then I paid attention as to how I normally use/hold a pistol grip radio... not gona work for me so I'll probably buy a 2.4 upgrade for my 3PKS to get the stubby antenna. |

Interesting. I will try it and see what happens. I just did'nt want to burn up anythng like a modual or somthing but seeing how I stand over the top of the truck most of the time range will not be a problem but I'm interested nt doing an experment to see the problems he was talking about,,,,thanks
