I've got an extra Novak XBR ESC laying around from a Kyosho buggy I'm not running right now. The Losi is my first crawler and I don't know if certain ESC's are crawler specific. I know this particualr ESC works with brushed motors. Thanks guys! Last edited by JEB21; 07-17-2009 at 10:25 PM.

Should be "okay" as the losi stops as soon as you let off, so the reverse should work instantly. I've not tried it personally so not sure. It's a decent ESC, based on the same platform as the Goat, but has different BEC, and Different software.

Thanks Charlie. I was wondering if the crawler specific ESC's were more precise for stopping and very small movements. I'll give the Novak a try and if it doesn't work out I'll sell it off and by a Goat.

Crawler ESC's usually have higher drag brake settings, and instant reverse. For "non comping" or just horsing around, pretty much anything will work.
