Default running a HB gt 14.4v duo esc on my Hustler

I switched to clod axles on my super hustler and have the esc shown in the link

My question is how can I get away with only using one battery pack?I don't want to use up the cab space because of wanting to put a driver and seat in there. Here is the Hustler

You could make a plate to put the lipo on the lower links or make something for it to mount somewhere on the rear or front axle?

The HB ESC is pretty large if I remember correctly, so that's going to eat up a lot of your useable space if you're trying to avoid chassis mounted components.

You could run Sub-C knuckle packs, but if you're looking to go scale with your Hustler, that will take away from the look a bit by having the wires coming up from the axles.

As Deluxe suggested, I think you're best bet would be to run a small Lipo on the front or rear upper links...under the hood panel would hide it nicely.

EDIT: Looking at your pic again, it appears that there's a bit of room in the belly pan to the right of the seat. You may be able to position a Lipo pack on it's side right there...something fairly small like a Holmes 2 or 3 cell 1300 mAH...

If you decide to go with knuckle packs, check out the JPS knuckles...

Yea it is a very big esc, might look at a smaller dou esc and run lipos, but that means I have to wait a bit longer untill I finish all the links and body stuff first

I run a 2200mah 2c LiPo, it sits on the "shelf" under the front body panel and extends inside the cab. The 2 FX-R's that run each motor sit on either side of it.

I don't have a seat or driver in mine though, the cab area is where all my electronics and battery sits.

Another thing I noticed from your picture - you will need to do something different with the lower shock mounts, the link passing through the solid cap will not pivot at all. It will undoubtedly cause binding as the suspension moves, and it makes it impossible to mount the shock at anything other than a 90 degree angle to the link, which ain't gonna work either.

The stock Hustler link mounts are nothing more than 1/4" plastic cable clamps you can find at Rat Shack or any electric supply house, if you did'nt get any when you got your Hustler. I was skeptical about them at first myself, but once you find the optimum hardware to use they work good. They pivot as the suspension moves, and they allow you to move the lower mount in relation to the upper so you can set the geometry properly...

The way it is in the picture will be totally redone, new shocks, bulkier links etc. Those shocks are already off and the frame sits bare.
