I bought a Rooster Crawler off flea-bay and when I go through the setup procedure all I get is the red and green leds flash once and then nothing. Any sugestions? Is the bat. not charged enough? Did I buy a turd? Help appreciated.

Always use a charged battery for stuf like this to be safe. Make sure the ESC is in CHannel 2, not the Batt or Aux spot. |

The bat is charged, 8.24 volts. Plugged bat into esc and checked voltage at esc and it's the same. Now the wierd thing when I turn the esc on and check the voltage at the esc it reads .5 volts. WTF, is that supposed to happen. Esc is plugged into channel 2 and still nothing. |

If the voltage drops when you turn on the ESC, I would imagine something is wrong with the ESC. Voltage should stay "pretty much" the same when you turn it on. Dropping a "little" is okay, but .5 is basically "all the way". Make sure the plugs are in the RX, the right way, Black to the outside. |

The plug is in the right way and still nothing. Even with it unplugged from the rx and turned on I read a red led should be on, but not happening. I think I got screwed on Evil-bay.

You're right, even not plugged into the RX, you should get some sort of lights. I think it's red/green for "no signal". If you're getting "Nada", then ebay bites again. The voltage dropping out like that might mean the ESC has shorted mosfet. Novak has an exchange program, you send in a busted ESC, and they replace it for a fee. It's on their website in the customer service section. Good Luck. |

I saw the exchange program but I don't think it's free. It'll cost me $39 for a remanned rooster plus shipping and handling which is $13. Anyway I e-mailed novak to see what they say.

Sorry, I'm wicked good at reading. I thought you typed free, or maybe subconciously I wanted it to be free b/c I'm to poor to pay attention. |
