Default EZRUN BL Review

Well, I just recently got a EZRUN Brushless setup to go into my Losi.

http://www.hobbypartz.com/35a-brushl...-1-10-car.html

My very first impression, is WOW! $62 for this combo and this is a nice looking setup! I even got Free shipping! The Motor is very nicely machined, the ESC is compact and water resistant (about the size of a Rooster Crawler). I got everything mounted in the Crawler. Here is my Setup:

Traxxas TQ3 RX/TX
EZRUN ESC/MOTOR Combo
TowardPro Servo
3s 1250mah Lipo

I got the Motor in with an 18T Pinion (I THINK!). Turned everything on and my first impression was, This SUCKS! The motor clogs way too much. I have tried messing with the settings and nothing seemed to help. Since this is a Sensor-Less setup, there was nothing I could do. I actually had one of these laying around:

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8474

With a few mods to the motor plate, I got it wired in, and its definitely something I like! Very little clogging, plenty of torque, and fairly decent wheel speed.

After this, I would actually Recommend this setup! Get the ESC for $22

http://www.hobbypartz.com/ezrun-25a-...hless-esc.html

And getting the motor for $13. I would suggest this motor instead, It has the correct plugs and better AWG wire.

Motor temps. This is more for the Losi guys. The motor gets Hot! I would suggest getting a external Fan to blow on the motor. Since this is an outrunner motor, you cant mount a heat sink to it.

Do you have any video of the 920kv motor in the Losi? I would think it would be kinda slow or comparable to something like a 55t in a Losi??

I ran sensorless outrunners in my crawlers about 2 years ago. I'm interested to see how much smoother they have become. I used a Mamba 25/ HH Revolver.

The Stock ribbed motors core is only 380 size so it has no torque what so ever, decent 540 size is way better

How can you post a review like this? This combo...
http://www.hobbypartz.com/35a-brushl...-1-10-car.html
Is not meant for crawlers at all... its for touring cars or two wheel drive buggies, not low speed crawling. The combo isn't junk it was just used in the wrong application. I have one in a TC3 and one in a B4 buggy and both work flawlessly.

4u2nv, who said that? just because you have it in buggy?
take a look at this table

so you can se it has a 3rd profile for rock crawling, with ability to set 100% drag brake...
Also check the manufacturer's site, saying it is rock crawling combo (3rd crawling mode, and 1200kv motor)

I misread the first post... I thought it was the 3000kv motor. Didn't realize it was the 1200. But the table you posted is for the esc not the motor anyway. I have the bigger motor in my cars.

So? I did a review on this setup for crawlers. My review told you that this setup is NOT for crawlers. . At least I actually posted a review that tells you NOT to get this combo. The ESC in general is great, with another motor you should be good to go - the purpose of this thread. ;)

I've got one in my wifes Slash...just doesn't have the balls to haul it for my liking. In the B4 it screams though...the Slash is just too heavy for a little 380...its nothing like the VXL in my Slash.

I wonder if you need something a little faster?? Try something on the 1500kv range. The losi needs something with some rpm.
