Default Balancers for different lipos?

I have a dynamite 2-3 cell lipo charger. It's not the greatest but it charges my flightpower batteries just fine off the flightpower V-balancer.

I'm currently building some new rigs and want to get away from nimh. Flightpower has come out with a new series of batteries but they keep pushing back their stocking/shipping date (I mainly buy from towerhobbies). Is there a balancer that will balance multiple types (manufacturer) of batteries so I don't have to buy the "brand specific" balancer associated with whatever battery I'd like to buy?

I'm cheap, have one ballancer, LHS had a bag of adapters that allows me to charge just about any type battery with it plus i made one extra. Try that...works well

Can you not simply change out the balancer adapter on that unit?

I have anAstroflight Blinky and it works with all the different brands of LiPo I own, which include Thunderpower, Team Orion, and Apogee brands.

What makes it compatible with these different brands of battery are the various cables/connectors that adapt between the battery and the balancer.

I looked at the specs for the V-balancer and his should be the case for it as well. You just need the right adapter cable/connector.

Hope this helps,

I love how flightpower claims it will only work with flightpower batteries. You would think if they included various styles of plugs and include a description that it is compatible with most lipos, they would sell more...
