| What 4 Channel Radio to get
It's about time to upgrade from my tq3 to a better 4 chanel radio and reciever. This will be for my AX10. So I'm looking for something to that has a forward/revrese, left and right for the front wheels, left and right for the rear wheels, and 3 position to operate a dig unit. will something like this work for what I need http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXMYL6**&P=7 or can someone point me in a better direction. I need to keep my budget around $100 |

The information listed says it only has ATV/EPA settings for Ch 1 and 2.... This could make setting up rear steer or dig difficult. EPA (end point adjustment) ATV (adjustable travel volume) are the same thing, they let you "turn down" how far the servo goes. This is very important for steering, dig and rear steer, otherwise you need some sort of spring doohicky, or servo saver thing, that will basically flex, or bend, or "give" when you try to move the Servo past where the steering/dig move. It's very rare to find a dig/steering setup that uses the "full range" of the servo. This is the basic need for a more expensive radio. For the long haul, you'll be much more pleased saving up some more money. The Spektrum DX6I sells at the shop I work at for $169 and will have all the "settings" that you need. I'd recommend that if you're looking for a good budget Stick Radio with more then 3 channels. ALso, techincally speaking, the FCC says you're not allowed to use Airplane Radios for driving cars/trucks/boats. Cause if a dude is flying his plane around where you crawl, you can send his plane into someone's head and kill them.... So for the sake of safety and good manners.... don't use an aircraft radio in your truck. You'll get a few guys on this forum that will recommend the Futaba 4PK, and yes, it's an awesome radio, but way more then $100. :( |

| X3 Be warned you will need to replace the battery as the stock one is pretty weak or prepare to charge it before use everytime. I just bought 2500 NIMH AA cells with solder tabs and built my own. This radio will do what you want and a bunch more for a decent price. Both myself and the kid run this radio and are very happy with it. Will bind with DSM1 spektrum recievers also if you have another rig that only needs 3 channels. |

If you want a 4 channel that's good but but lacks any company customer service and it fairly cheap go with the React. If you want the best and can afford it go with the 4PK. IMO
