I have a novack 55 turn motor and Iam lacking wheel speed. Iwas thinking of a 35 turn integy lathe motor. But Ithink it won't have enough torque because my comp rig is pretty heavy. And im also running a regulare stick pack 1800 7.2v. Or will i better of with a 45t motor. Thanks.

But if you want cheap and works great try 1500 battery with the split 8 cell. You can also try a smaller spur gear. www.cheapbatterypacks.com | |

I run a 8 cell Ni battery (9.6v) with a 35 turn motor, and feel it's about right. Wouldn't want anything slower. I'd get a 35 or maybe even a 30 turn motor if you are stuck with a Rooster and can't go above 7 cells/8.4v. If you have an esc that will handle 3 cell lipo, that is a very good option. It'll be gobs (fancy technical term) faster.

I have run 9 cell on rooster crawler with dual 55's with zero problems. It got warm, that was it. A lot of people have run 8 cell with no problems. The one thing that bugged me about the rooster was the glitch using a tq3 radio. Sold it because of that.

The 35 integy will still have plenty of torque and IMO plenty of nice wheel speed with your battery. Just as an example my friend runs a 35 integy with a 1600 nimh saddle and has enough wheel speed to hop a gap and it has no loss of torque in fact the slipper (which is fairly tight) gives in before the motor gives up

the HPI Jolt ESC (on the WK) is rated at 7.2v, but some people have reported using 7cells (8.4v) with it without problems. Get a single 2/3a cell, wire, and a set of male/femail deans and try adding a 7th cell. It will give you more wheelspeed and torque. From there, do not go nuts with larger pinions, then the Jolt will get hot.
