Make sure you get the Ultra Torque version, rather than the Ultra Speed.

I've run into a few locals that love JR servo's but they all run bashers and nitro's. Can't really compare the 2 so it doesn't mean much. If it's still workin I'd run it till it quit's. When it does,I'd recommend 645's for the little trucks.

My JR servo is doing good right now but my friend who had a JR servo said he fried 3 JR servos really fast. Is it because his servos wasn't digital because the one in my TLT is a digital. I also had the JR590m when I had 4ws but took it off because there was a comp. comming up. Is it better to just get the hitec servo and instal it in my truck before the JR gets fried because I don't really want to waste a $100 servo.

I know who your talking about. He runs that Tamiya ESC that has a 7.2 BEC, that's why he fries them & he'll keep fying servos till he changes ESC's. Justin isn't the only one frying servos, so is Alan. Guess what? They both have the same ESC.

Default JR servo

I use JR servos on both my tlt crawlers, I use the JR 650z, metal gear ball bearing, 142 oz of torque in .17. I cant say i have ever had a problem with these. I use them on my race clods as well and over the summer the servo pretty much just exploded from the inside out and ripped apart all the gears and case... Jr has a 3 year "no questions asked" warranty so i sent it in and recieved a brand new one back with in a 2 week period. I also fried a a 590z (89oz in .15) because i tried making it run in reverse for 4 wheel steering :? and I sent that back as well and they sent me a new one for that too. As long as you have a reciept your good, and for 50.00 I think the 650z is a pretty good servo just for the warranty alone, not to mention it has a good torque.

I posted this in a newbie section thread but it's just additional information for here, I realize you're asking about a servo for a TLT. This information primarily was in response to a TXT question.....

From the Newbie thread....
Quite a few folks run Hitecs. I personally have had bad experience with multiple different Hitec's in my TXT, couldn't keep a set of gears in them as I would strip them out and I won't run a servo saver as I don't like the mushiness it creates, so a cheaper servo would end up being expensive by the time you buy replacement gear sets a few times at $20 a set. That is why I switched to the giant scale servos, these things are BEEF and there is no way you're gonna break them and at $29.99 for a servo and $4 for a gear set it's the only way to go for me on a TXT. However, they are HUGE and this may present a problem for some people, my other regular size servo that i would run in a txt and the one that I run in my TLT, and the only one I will buy from here on out is the Airtonics 94359Z. It's a $140 from Tower, I got mine cheaper from other places, but it's a brute and blows away the Hitecs, plus has a built in heat sink. After having it for awhile, I'll never go back to hitecs. Here's the link to both....

Airtronics http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...?&I=LXCHB2&P=ML
Hobbico http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXLN93&P=7

Also, check out out my thread in the TXT section "Chop, Cut, Rebuild........" You will see how big the Giant scales are.

Troy

7.2 BEC. Justin got one of those esc from me but I didn't fry my digital servo but since I had a esc from my sprint its in my cralwer. But the bec is only at 5 volts. I guess I'll just stick with my Digital servo since my JR590m is in my drift car, How do you guys water proof the servo. I'll take pictures of my truck later.

Does this (645 w/ metal gears) servo work w/ a TQ 2 ch. radio & reciever, I also have a Rooster ESC.
I am starting a build soon. I need a servo for a N.N. Clod crawler.
Does anyone know what would work?

Yes, the 645mg servo will work with your reciever. Just about all servos and recievers are compatible. Some servo plugs need to be trimmed a bit (i think Futaba, but not sure) to fit correctly.

I ordered a couple Hitech HSC 5998 TG's the other day. With 250oz torque, alloy gears and it's small size,,,it should work will for my e-max project. I hope I made a good choose this time, I bought the 645's at first and was very disappointed in the lack of torque. I should have researched a bit more before buying 645's.

Yup, for a big truck 645's aren't that strong, but for a TLT they're fine.

Good luck, I've burnt up 3 of them. You'll need a radio with adjustable end points to keep them from burning up. That's why I switched to the airtronics 94359z.
