Default DX3R - Major problems, would appreciate any help!

Hi guys,

So I'm a long time rc fan, been in the hobby for about 20 years... ok so I've had this DX3R for a year or so but never really used it due to time contraints (chitty job ) Anyways... I had it out the other night and I was fine tuning the exponential when all of a sudden the whole system (RX/TX) crapped out on me... everytime I turn it on and use the monitor function the throttle and steering are constantly in motion even though there is no movement of the wheel or trigger... goes without saying... when the esc and servo are plugged in, they are constantly in motion...

Has anyone else had this problem? I sent Spektrum an email but haven't heard back in the last few days...

Also, is there a system reset function... I know you can reset the model but I was wondering if you could reset EVERYTHING.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hey Rockcrawler, thanks for the heads up Will take a look see when I get home... presuming this would be pretty similar to reseting a single model but it's definately worth a go. Thanks again.

Have you tried re-binding it? You can reset it to default by useing the RESET function (third function from the bottom). Mine did something simular when I first got it and after re-setting the controller and re-binding it a couple times it has worked fine ever since.

When the DX3R's 1st came out there was a recall on some of them for loosing their bind. I had 1 that was affected. I sent it back to Horizon and they fixed it for me.
Here is a link to the Horizon article. Check the serial number of your unit.

Hey Goodoldlevi, yeah I actually tried rebinding it a couple times, also I have two recievers so I have changed them out and bound the new one as well... unfortunately no luck... I think the problem lies with the radio... but thanks for your input

Hey Slow Joe! Thanks man... this seems like something I should definately look into. I originally had a binding issue where the reciever lost connection a few times... but at the end of the day the rx/tx would stay bound for months at a time only to come unbound for no apparent reason... I think the current calibration on the TX is FAWKED but I wil definately check the serial number just in case.

BTW guys... shot Spektrum an email and this is what I got back...
"Thank you for your recent e-mail. Go to the Setup screen and reset the
Parameters for the radio. You manual has the exact instructions on how
to do this. This should fix your issue." :?

Thanks again guys,
Mike
