yes you could unwind it then rewind to 45t, but unless you have prev exp doing it i wouldnt try it. if not done right it will basiclly ruin it by running way hot

You could in theory but I don't think anyone would recommend it. If I where you I would sell the 45T motor and buy a 45T.

What for you allready would have a 45 Try it man they are cheap enough to play with and if you enjoy it then do not let anyone stop. Best way i ever found to learn somethin is to just do it.

I thought they use different wire thickness for different turns of motors. The 45t might use thicker wire.

Just buy a 45t unwinding the wire will most likely crack and flake all the insulating laqures. Thus shorting the motor out. If you do this you have to rebalance the motor and a whole slew of other things. Most of which require expensive machines.

If it is too slow and your willing to chance junking the motor just crank the timing up, itll get you speed but at the sacrifice of the com and your brushes.( there are other drawbacks as well, quick search on google or here should net them all)

With motors in the 20$ range, only reason to do this is to do it out of the urge of the experience, just dont expect it to run at all when your done.

Thickness often relates to say 45t triple vs 45t singles. Latter using a thicker wire. I dont think there is a big jump between a 55t and 45t if any.

With the (embarrassed to say) Cliff Climbers, that some of us bought, we were playing with a lot of motors.
I tried my hand at rewinding. Pain in the arse!
I was rewiding small 380 armatures. Finished 2 of 4 I started. Both worked, but like mentioned above, one of them gets really hot!

If you try it out on a scrap motor, Rat shack sells a 3pack of speaker/magnet/motor wire for $9-10.

Throw the 55T in the box for a spare and buy a 45T. Or buy a 45T and practice winding on the 55T.

Just 0.02 worth.

try cutting on end of the wire, unwrap 10X's, then resoder...I wouldn't do it...but that's a start...

then go pick up a 45T. break it in water...let us know how it works for you.
