| Tactic 2.4 ghz
Anyone have, or use the Tactic 2.4 ghz radio? How does it compare to the Big Offroader other than being only 2 channels?

I had one for a little while and it is a crappy radio. Yes, it's 2.4 Ghz but that doesn't automatically make it a good radio. Save your money and get something that will last you and be able to grow with your skills and RC collection. I reccomend the Futaba 3PK, 4PK, or the new 3PM MX. The Spektrum DX3R is good too. |

I have not had any experience with the big offroader. Just from the looks it seems to be a gimick. I've said it before, and it won't be the last time my 3PK makes me look like a better driver than I really am with everything I drive. I try to encourage everyone that asks me to buy the best radio you can afford because if your rig drives off a cliff, the only thing that will still be fine is the radio in your hand. | |

Do not have the Tatic so I can not comment I do have the Big offroader and it works just as good or better than any 2.4ghz controlers out there. I have 4 receivers in 4 different RC's and they all work perfectly. I have been side by side using my controller while the guy next to me is using an Airtronics 2.4ghz and they both perform equally. Do not listen to anyone that says this one is better because it costs more. Do a search for Big OffRoader 2.4ghz and you will see nothing but positive reviews. |

Let me make a few clarifications here. For simple crawling (steering, and throttle), just about any radio, including the tactic, will be okay to use. However, if you plan to use the radio for anything else (fast cars/trucks, boats, dig, lights, winch, rear steer) it WILL not meet your needs and you'll just end up buying another radio later on. A good radio will pay for itself many times over. |

We have one at work, it doesn't even feel as it's of as high a quality as some of the stuff sold under the Fastlane brand name at Toy's "R" Us up until I left that company in 2001! The Rx's also do not have an external antenna either. IN all honesty, I'd save up for a TQ2.4, any Spektrum, or Futaba 2.4 radio. I'd even stick wit my FM's and AM's first.
