| Advice on LiPo Saddle Packs
I was browsing the MaxAmps site earlier, lookin at LiPo saddle packs. Alot of them are on sale, at a pretty good cut of the original cost. Anyways, they have a 860 2S2P 7.4V Saddle Battery Pack thats sized at 30mm X 49mm X 9mm, which they claim is perfect to fit on the Axial (im assuming mounted astride the steering servo on the front axle...) Another one Im looking at, which if Im thinking right has a much higher mah (if LiPo's are rated in such a fashion..) but its slight bigger. The link is here Lipo 3300 2S3P 7.4V Saddle Battery Pack, and its sized at 34mm X 66mm X 19mm. Would the second one fit on the front axle of a stock Axial ARTR? Also, Im assuming that it is, cause it says "2S", but it would be compatible with the Novak Goat ESC/motor, I dont have the 3S version. |

no replies......hmmm probably means no one uses those I would go with the first one if it says it fits. or you might be better off just buying a cheap zippy/s and moving your servo over or keep your servo centered and mount that light 2S lipo elsewhere(almost anywhere). going with the cheaper lipos you'll have extra $ for a "servo plate" up front which will most likely have holes to convert to a 4 link. I don't think the weight of the saddlepack on the axles will help you out much anyway. |

get somthing like this. .http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ry-Plate-Green and run a pack like this http://www.maxamps.com/proddetail.ph...4-Pack&cat=205 bump your servo all the way to the side, and as long as the battery is under 70mm long they should fit on the front |

Well, I already have the saddle pack battery plates, as I run a NiMH saddle pack, or at least I will once my Axial ARTR gets here. Just looking to get my first LiPo, and figured since I had the mounts already there, may as well stick with a saddle pack. I know LiPo's are lighter and all that jazz so -shrug-. Thanks for yalls advice. |
