Default 7.2 volt nimh charging at 3amps / 8 volts?

Got a AC6 charger and charging 7.2v 3600 nimh battery. It's charging at 3amps and in the 8 volt range. Is that correct? It recommends the 3 amps but doesnt say any other specifics. Just wondering about the charging volts (?

when a 7.2v battery is fully charged it is between 8.4-9 volts so there is nothing wrong from what you said
