| 12V battery Help !
I'm looking for a 12V Battery? Small, light weight. One for a Nylint 1/6th. I would like to last least get one that would run for 30min. I don't know much about batteries thou. What do I need to look for? Are there any web pages that would help. Thanks for the time. |

lipos are the only ones that are light, small and worth considering, but expensive. basically u can use any batteries that suit your need, AA's AAA's or whatever, they may not last long enough tho

The cheapest place to get the batteries for the big nylints is battery headquarters or a farm shop they use them for electric fences I have got a couple of them before for less than 15 bucks

How about using the cheap/generic 8 or 10 cell 3000 nimh? they should be lighter and possibly run for 30 minutes. I think I would try using 2 standard 6x3000 nimh or just make onje a 4 cell by removeing 2 cells. This can be done for $20. Many times people like me have older 2400's or 3000's lying around that have good runtime yet the voltage under load is no good. These would make excellent crawler packs.

(Cell) CBP *BASHER* 3300 SC (Configuration) Unicorn (Plug) Large Female Tamiya (Wire) 12AWG Wire All this would be is 48 bucks. If I upgraded to a 3800 cell pack it jumps up to 73 bucks. How long should they last. Are we talkin 10min, 30min or more like 1 hr? And one more thing what is mah? Way couldn't I just use AA do C's just last longer? I just made a light weight 12v pack using Sub C's last night for my 1:6 Nilint. I did not have time to charge the pack a couple of times at .50 amps to give more run time but charged at 3 amps I still got over an hour run time with it. The ONLY problem with it is my Integy 16x5 charger only charges up to 8 cells, not 10. So I had to add a battery bar to one of the cells so I can unsolder a small lead to seperate the pack into two, one 6 cell and one 4 cell. I really like this battery config because it fits 6 of the cells down at the very bottom of the battery tray and 4 more right on top of the 6 cells. The weight is as low as it can get in the battery tray and the pack is considerably lighter then the stock lead acid battery. I use a stock 2.2 tire foam to fill in the space above the pack and the battery lid. You can send cheapbatterypacks pics of my pack and they can custom make a pack for you. |
