Default Can I use my GTB in my Losi Comp Crawler?

Hey guys, just got my first crawler. I plan to use my old GTB. Do I need a special speedo for worm gears? Also any suggestions on a motor brushless or brushed using a two-cell lipo and my GTB?

Probably be fine, other than I don't believe the Novak GTB had reverse. I could be wrong, but I thought I remember it being forward only.

Default What motor should I use?

My kid loves monster trucks so I got him a crawler for his birthday and we don't plan to use it for serious crawling. I plan to use it for driving around, hill climbing, and go over whatever is in the yard. lol Any recommendations? What motor and gearing?

I smoked a Novak GOAT and while waiting for the Novak GOAT 3S, I put my old GTB in my crawler. It worked ok but even after playing with the settings for a week or so, the reverse to forward was a bit jerky. Also the "Hill Brake" was not there so you have to keep on the gas while going over a steep rock or hill. It just rolled down the backside of rocks as the dragbrake was of no use withe the heavy crawler. I was using a 18.5 Novak Crawler motor.

It will work for play but keep a fan on it, otherwise find a Novak GOAT 2S as this will be a great setup to learn the crawler. My little brother (7) can just about beat me driving! They learn fast!

Let me know if you have any questions.
