Ummm....what happened between tuesday night and tonight? I asked you guys both about this tuesday when I was talking about mine! :-P I believe it's just your end points are off. I really like this servo and I've been running a couple of them on my ax10s for months, with no issues. I believe your end points need to be set lower than you think or are currently running. I' haven't had a chance to test since making the change but we'll see tomorrow night.. Last edited by mann0mann; 09-03-2009 at 03:19 AM. |

I have one on my super and it's great. I just know not to run for more than 20 minutes or so at a time. That's really no help but it's my fix. |

My Futaba's run hot too. I think wheel weight might play a small part in the heating, as the Hobbico in the SSS rig with lighter wheels seems to stay cooler, when run for about the same time.

My end point setting won't apply in someone else's truck. Linkage, servo arm, radio system will all affect those settings. I set endpoints first by visually looking for binding. On my truck I set it first by just backing off from getting into the springs or whatever mechanical limit there may be. Then I usually "listen" to the servo. You can hear a digital servo trying to work. I back it off more if it sounds like it's working the servo still. |

This most recent servo I'm using on the berg though is noticeably warmer. Now I'll fall on my sword and admit, the first time I noticed the heat I did have some binding in my steering (totally my fault...the locktight got away from me ). The second time I noticed it I had been bound a bunch and admittedly it was working hard, and I feel like there may have still been some binding from the flex in my steering rod. I've since then, taking about another 10% more of steering out. I am not anywhere close to any mechanical limitation, so I'm going to give this one more shot tonight. I'm hoping it will solve the issue. May even go run today for a bit to test.

My Futaba S9157 harldy warms up and I am running it above the recommended Voltage. I would say enpoints are key here.
