Default Mamba Max DOA? i.e. won't power up?

Well, I tried to fix my cousin's max the other day after it had an unfortunate interaction with spur gear on his ax-10. Basically the "servo lead" was chewed off near the case of the max. I snipped and spliced a new lead on to the pig tail that remained, plugged everything into my crawler and nothing...

Checked for continuity through the splices and everything is fine. Also checked the power wires and they are fine too. Plugged it into the computer to reprogram. Powers up and programs fine. Plug it into a battery and receiver and nothing happens.

Any one have any other suggestions (other than buy a new one -- he's already resigned himself to this but if I can fix it then why not?)

thanks in advance

Oops, should mention the max has the standard "power switch removed mod"...

So when you plug it in, it does nothing? No noises or LEDs?

Did you check across the splice, or from the splice to the board? The wire may be broken away from the board.

Ditto from above. If the spur "chewed" up the cable, It could have pulled or stressed the wire anywhere from the "chew" point to the PCBoard.
Continuity should B checked from the plug to the solder joints in the ESC.
Programming is done thru a USB port and not thru the Reciever cord so that does suggest that your problem is the Reciever cable.

Make sure you are plugging it into the RX the right way! Signal-signal, power-power, neg-neg.... I've plugged mine in backwards a few times and was like WTF???? Easy mistake to make sometimes! And it would have been esy to do after you just made the fix on it. If it powers up to program it I bet it's just plugged in backwards to the RX
