I agree on the CS 170, but for a buget, they Hitec 645 is good also. For less than $40.00 you get a metal geared servo with moderate power.

the cs-170 or any hi-tec servo is a great pic ive only stripped 1 gear in a hi-tec 645 after 6 monthes of daily use, but other than that ive never had a problem with any hi-tec product!

Alot of good servos out there...but recomend saving a little more $ and get the strongest(most tourque) one you can...you'll be much happier in the long run!! |

Just got my 7950tg, and it sure is nice. Hopefully the gears are stronger than those on the jr ds8711. I stripped my jr gears twice in my savage. (with a loose saver)

http://servocity.com/html/hs-7950tg_servo.html Ok it states you can upgrade for 90 degrees to 180 degrees. I have never heard of a servo being restricted... Also states you can upgrade to "counterclockwise". WTF--does it only turn one way

For a $10 difference between the cs-170 and the Hitec 7995tg I could see no reason to get the "cheap" one. Go Hitec. I also have gone through 3 $40 servos. |

If you don't have EPA's on your radio, you could essentially program the servo to travel only as far as you wanted with the programmer, along with several other things like deadband width, etc..
