Default going LIPO, some q's

So, I just ordered 6 (yes 6 , bit of an impulse :-P) 1300mah 20c 3s Turnigy Lipos from hobbycity. I already have chargers and whatnot. My question is basically about the motors. I have never used more than 8cell nimh with a brushed motor. Will the lipos play nice with a tekin 55t motor (that came in the FXR combo). I know the esc can handle it, but not sure if the motor will be happy.

Also 1300mah 20c is adequate, right? thats like 26amps. Considering that the dig switches people use for the clod are only rated to 12 amps, i figured it would be fine.

I know the rest of my equipment can handle the 3s lipo, but i wasn't sure about the motor itself. THanks.

Yeah, your motors will be fine. Just watch the heat on the lipo and keep it under 110f.

I use that same setup with no issues what-so-ever.

Double check your cell voltages on those batteries before you finish charging them. If they are good, balance charge them for at least the first 6 charges.
Hobby city is known for sending out bad batteries now and then and it cost triple to exchange them.
Pack price is worth the wager.

I just ordered 4 of the same pack from the same site. They best get here soon or I will blame you for buying them out I also have a FXR and am using a 35T, both the motor and esc get a little warm. I wonder, would the extra voltage wear the motor out faster? 3s lipo is sexy.

^^Well, I almost bought 10 , but decided on 6, cuz I will never need all 10, lol. So, by buying only 6, I saved you 4

How much run time you expect I will get with each pack? I am running a JR d8711 up front, and a traxxas digital servo in the back all on an FXR and CCBEC. (4ws). 55t motor as stated above. Will it be better runtime than a 1500mah nimh?

A bit less. 1300mah is less than 1500mah. You will notice better punch and wheelspeed through the discharge though.

I was hoping it might be alittle longer in practice becasue of the flatter voltage curve. My main porbelm with the 1500mah is actually that as I near the end of the charge, i lose conection everytime i turn the wheels, b/c my servos draw a lot of pwoer, and dip the voltage enuogh that the reciever resets. If I don't turn the wheels much, I can get another 10 mins of WOT trail running. As soon as I turn, it sests though, lol.

I have a 1300 mah 3s 20c pack, and with my single hitec HTMG and the 35T I get about 45min of crawling time. I run it in a scx10.

If we use a simple Ohms law on this, and assume that the amount of power (measured in watts) is the same with botn nihm and lipo, then you'ld probably draw a bit less Amp from the lipo than the nihm. And compared to a 9,6 volts nihm 1500mah, you would probably get the same running time.

Sorry if my technical english is bad
