| Which BEC should i get?
I have an AX10 with a hitec 5955tg servo for steering and im gonna pick up a 645 for the dig. As of right now im running a Novak Rooster crawler esc. My question is should i go with a Novak external BEC or the Castle Creations 10A BEC? Im looking into picking up a Tekin FXR or the Goat 3S in the near future to run 3S lipo's. I know the CC BEC's are programmable but what about the Novaks? I also heard that since im running the Rooster, i should go with the external one Novak provides but ive been hearing too much good stuff about the CC. Lastly, will one BEC be enough for both these servos? Thanks

I knew someone would say that. My question is why? Just out of curiosity?

castle..tried and proven, yes it will run both servo,s..not sure what the novak is rated at, i,m sure it works fine but castles are cheap and programable which is nice ..not sure how programable the novak is..not knocking the novak one, i just like castle..never let me down yet |

Cool! Castle it is. Im a noob at this so pardon the questions. Will programming the CC BEC at 6.1v be good enough for running both these servos? And also, what if i leave the BEC at the pre-programmed voltage of 5.1v with my current setup. Will that be enough power to run this setup without any problems?

Me personally i would wire the bec directly to your servo and just run the dig servo of the internal bec that way you get full steering power. Most digs dont require as much power as needed for steering so the internal should be fine. As far as which one the castle unit is great its cheap adjustable |

Can you show a diagram of how you would wire it up?

Castle is rated at 10amps where the novak I believe is only either 3 or 5 amps, I run my Castle BEC at 6.2 volts and it is running my Hitec 7955 and 5645 servos with no problems of glitching Just make sure you unhook the positive wire on the ESC receiver plug. I have my BEC plugged into the receiver and it works great.

If i do not have the castle link to program the BEC, will 5.1v be enough to power the servo if i decide to bypass the reciever and go straight to the servo or should i just plug in the BEC to the reciever with only 5.1v powering both steering servo and dig servo?

Here is the link to the novak becs: http://www.teamnovak.com/products/BEC/index.html None of them are programmable, only two can handle 3s, only two are Switching Regulator type, they are only 3 and 5 amp. The CC is a proven 10A 6S Switching Regulator programmable unit. No contest |

If you purchase from holmes hobbies, i believe he can program it for you before shipping it. I am not sure though, can someone verify? | |
