Default Motor, esc and batt running hot..

Guy i need some help here. I run my venom with stock gearing and parts but during the run my esc, motor n lipo was very hot. I also hear a drag sound from the motor n gear box too. I tot i was a friction or something but when i check everything look fine. Here what i m using

-HS 320amp esc
-stock pinion n gear
-2200mah lipo
-55t venom brush motor.

Any idea why this happen?

with no power the rig rolls freely? You probably have binding in the driveline somewhere.

No my rig cannot move freely with no power its stuck like using wormgear.
I bought this rig ready assemble by the hobbyshop so dont know how they fix this rig up.
do mean is this venom can move freely without power same like like axial rig?
Then seems like i have to dismantle everything and do some check out. This is sucks man....
Thanks ROb in advance.

If you take the motor out, the Creeper should roll freely on a 20 degree slope.
With the motor installed but no battery fitted, it should be almost as free. It shoul roll on maybe a 25-30 degree slope, depending on the drag of the motor.

Take the motor out. If it now rolls, it was the pinion mesh.

If it still won't roll, disconnect the driveshafts from the gearbox. If it now rolls, it's a problem with the gearbox. Strip the gearbox and clean off the grease.

If it still won't roll, it's an axle/diff problem.

I done dismantle the gearbox and check every parts in it but found nothing. i assembly back the gearbox and test to move without motor mounted its jus work fine and freely. So i put in the motor and do the same test as above its still can move with a bit friction and i assume this is normal right?
I only got 15min test due to rain so cannot confirm is the esc, motor and batt are still hot like before. Will do it the test again tomorrow.

Yes, it will have a bit of resistance with the motor in there. Not much though.

Tested again and still had the heat at motor, esc and batt but less 40% hot from before. I m really disappointed with this will need to open back the rig and re assemble just to see if any spoiled parts again.
Venom ...u sucks man.

Manage to test again and this time less heat at the ESC,motor n batt.
Running time also bit longer then before but the friction sound still have.
I post same topic at venom thread but no answer from the manufacture. I also noticed that venom brush motor not smooth enough for the job.

Don't be so quick to blame Venom. It's not their fault someone messed up the build. You got it already built from your local hobby store, it's very likely they didn't build it that way it should be.

Finally its runs smoother. Manage to run 2hours straight to test this rig. So my problem was not 100% gone the motor, esc n batt still running hot but not like last time. Few drops n fall off on today testing and i broke my rear shocks screw mount. So what i can say here this rig good in the performance but bad on the quality. I also dunno what is the cause for the heat and i can say i m happy to handover this rig to my daughter to hv fun.

What temp is "hot"?

After about an hour of running my ax10 with an integy 55t on 6cell nimh my motor gets to around 100-120f on my raytek minitemp I use on my nitros. Basically hot to the touch but not hot enough to be uncomfortable.

Basically things do get warm from use, so take that into consideration

Hot = Cannot touch for more then a second or no more finger print for you.
Warm = this is what i called normal aka like u mention above. so i understood what is normal or not. I m running 27 T on my axial on 2- 3s lipo both did not get hot not even i can say it warm.
I think you know about this heating problem if our electronic running on un necessary heat meaning there must be something not right to it.
If ecs/batt/motor getting hot meaning its draw to many current. This will cause the lipo bloated, esc burn etc...
so i noticed about this and this is why i say it "HOT"
What temp.... i didnt use any tool to measure the temp on my EP rig but i did use it when i m running on nitro.

This is the reason I asked for a definition, everybody has a different opinion. And this is why I asked for a measurement, most of the world is based on these things.

My bro has a creeper and doesn't have any temp probs so I can concur in the fact from an earlier comment that it's not venom's fault. Either way hope you find your binding issue. I too would start from the pinion and spur to follow the gear train and seperately disconnect things to find where you're bound up
