| BEC for servo not working right...
I've read through all the posts on BEC that I could find over the last couple of weeks.. But I'm having an issue that I haven't seen here.. Pertinent setup: MRC Losi Insane 370 motor CC sidewinder ESC CC BEC Hitec 645 servo 7.4 LIPO I originally hooked up the BEC per CC I.E. plug the BEC into the Aux or Bind port on the receiver and pull the red wire on the receiver to ESC plug.. Noticed this weekend that the steering servo still wouldn't move much under load.. so I wired the BEC to power the servo only per the instructions here.. Now, the steering turns on it own whenever I get the motor up to high speed or "blip" the power.. Re-checked all the connections: BEC brown to black on the servo BEC red to red on the servo BEC "organ'ish" wire to nothing Servo yellow wire to the receiver. Any idea what I've done wrong? One item of note.. I couldn't get my Castle link to recognize the BEC when I first bought it so it's running stock settings.. I have confirmed with a VOM that the BEC is outputting 5vdc. |

Sometimes, and I'm not sure why, those CC BECs need input power for the Castle Link to recognize them....so hook up your battery and try to program it once more...

Ahh....you might want to give CC a call. If you enter extension # 125, you'll be directed to their tech, Thomas.....I've called with a large variety of problems and he's been able to fix them all!

With such a low output voltage you may be seeing some small output fluctuations that are causing the RX to go crazy. The spektrum stuff likes 6v more than 5v.

I Had that problem with the servo steering under throttle without input. I switched back to the cc wiring diagram and it worked fine. Did you have throttle control when you had it wired cc's way? |

Yes.. i have throttle control wired either way.. the servo works wired up either way too, but it appears to be glitching the servo under throttle input. I'm going to put a call into CC this afternoon and see what they have to say. |

Not sure if this will help but may be worth mentioning. I too tried hooking a CC-BEC up to my MRC (though with stock electronics) and an HS-645 this weekend. I tried both ways (CC way and the direct to servo way) and it just did not want to work. As a last ditch effort I put new batteries in my TX and it suddenly worked like a charm. There was no real indication the batteries were low as the car worked fine before surgery, but it did seem to fix my issues. Just my two cents ......
