Default Hitec APP-21 servo tester work with Hobbico CS170 servo?

I read that the HPP-21 would program the CS170 digital servo but so far have not been able to get a connection. It says it's not connected. Any thoughts?

Does the tester say it will work with a Hitec 5955?

Does it test the servo OK, but you can't program it?

I was told it would work also. Sorry to hear about it. Let us know if you come up with anything.

The HPP-21 should be able to test all servos, analogue or digital. The programming features only work with suitable digital servos. Some on-line sources say "all analogue servos and Hitec digital servos", but I've tested Futaba digital servos with mine.

Sounds like you have a connection or software problem.
Have you managed to test any servos at all with the HPP-21?
Have you got a battery pack connected to the HPP-21, and is it charged?
Make sure that the servo and battery pack are connected correctly - ground wire (black or brown) towards the edge.

I only have this one new digital servo so havnt been able to test the new tester yet on anything else. I do have 6v going to the tester and all connections have ground on outer edge. Software recognizes tester but not servo. I guess I need to find another digital servo somewhere and see if it works.

I have to follow the exact set-up for the hpp-21 to work.
1- hook hpp-21 to comp. with usb.
2- start program.
3- hook battery up.
4- hook servo up.

I have tested futaba, hi-tec, and a ckrc wiggler with no problems. It should be able to test your cs170, but maybe not program it.

Silly question, but do you have a battery pack hooked up the HPP-21? I found it odd to do so, but I don't think the USB provides enough juice to run the servo. I programmed my 7955's with it no problem.

Still no workie. Ill try a hitec digital servo when i have a chance and see if there'z a difference. So far I've tried two diferent 6v sources; one 6v battery and one 6v dc adapter I modified w/ connector. Both make servo twitch once when I connect so I know it's getting battery power, plus I tested it w/ a meter. Maybe something else is wrong.
