Default 2.2 crawler battery options

I've been searching around trying to find the batteries being used in 2.2 crawlers. Mostly for size and placement in the chassis. It doesn't seem to be a spec being listed on most threads. I plan on using clod axles, lathes and front and rear steering. I'm probably going to run a teken rebel 2 and i might run a receiver pack.

So I guess i'm asking, are most people using sub c's to get the batteries low in the chassis? Does anyone have any photos of how the batteries are mounted in the V3 2.2? I found a white bronco with some off body shots but it was hard to tell exactly what pack it was. Looked like sub c's packed in a single row.

On my 2.2 clod I used a full size pack right in the middle of the chassis, worked great. I never had any reason to put it anywhere else. Not sure if that helps or not

Heres a pic of the chassis, had plenty of room for a full size 6 cell pack right in the belly of it.

whats your wheelbase? I'm messing around with a 12.5" wheel base and it seems to be a pretty tight fit laying it down in the belly.

I dont quite remember where it was but its right around there because I had the proline chevy c10 body and the tires fit in line with the wheel wells nicely.

This where i'm at with the design. The only part i've seen in person are the maxx shocks and axles so i'm not sure what ride height should be. My problem is when the battery is in the belly its REALLY close to hitting the axle housings.

I have it mocked up in the last reply in this thread.

You'll have plenty of space between the axle housings to lay the pack flat on the belly pan with a 12.5" wheelbase. That's where I run the 6-cell Sub C pack on my 2.2" Clods. ;)

You can kinda see in these pics, there's around 3/8" of clearance between the gearboxes and battery. The battery is sitting in black Associated battery cups.....

12.5" from axle shaft center to axle shaft center, tire size has nothing to do with wheelbase. :?

A 6-cell pack is a hair shorter than the skidplate on my 2.2" Clod. See, plenty of clearance. ;)

Sweet! thanks.

I was asking about center clearence from the ground to the belly when I was refering to tire size making a difference.

Whats the width of your chassis and your battery pack dimensions? Sorry for the interrogation.....

Ah, I see.... read your post again.... I suck at reading comprehension.

Not 100% sure on the belly clearance. I think somewhere around 3.5"-3.75" with Masher2K's.

Thanks! The chassis in the last picture is one I built for Syco133. He traded it for a TLT..... now I don't have to worry about him beating me in comps!
