Default Waterproof box / heat dissipation

I decided to put all my scaler electronics in a box to waterproof them. They are all wedged in fairly tight and I started wondering if heat dissipation will be an issue?

I have a sidewinder, CC BEC, RX and winch controller all in there.

Thoughts?

I know this is old but I was searching and found the same question with no answer.

Does anyone run a sidewinder in a waterproof box? Do you have a problem with overheating. Mine would stop for 5mins or so a couple of times today till I took off the box cover. What are some of the secrets to keeping it in the waterproof box?

...let us know how it goes. I have all my electronics stuffed into a box with a goat and don't have a problem.

I've been running it that way for a long time and to date, had no issues.

I will say though that I don't go WOT much in the scaler so it's not building much heat.

I have an fxr, rx, winch controller, and two bec's in a waterproof box. Running a 45t Tekin motor on 3s.The rig weighs 10 lbs. During normal running I have no problems, but if I run it hard in deep water it will shut down.

I really like the compactness and simplicity of having everything in one box, but there is definitely an issue with heat saturation. For right now I plan to live with it, but a better option would be to waterproof the board and leave the speed control out of the box to dissipate heat.

Anybody try a watercooling system? The new vxl for the traxxas boat has a watercooled system, wondering if someone can figure out how to adapt that to a scaler box. If so, that would be sweet.

Here is page with some good info on waterproofing electronics. A boat website but still can do boards the same way. It's from their "Tips/Info" page.
