Default on/off switch between Lipo and ESC on a scaler?

Would it be possible to install an on/off switch on the Positive wire between a Lipo battery and my ESC?

Or would the current draw be too much for the switch?

I'm looking for a way to maybe be able to turn a scaler on/off without having to unplug the battery everytime.

I'm planning to run an FXR, 45turn, CCBEC, 3s lipo, winch, and some lights. I may run a second battery for the lights.

I always unplug on my comp rig, and I would still unplug for storage, but with a hardbody it would be nice not to have to go digging for the wires under the body all the time.

Thanks!

You'd need a really big switch, rated for at least 40 amps, or a 40A relay controlled by a small switch.

An alternative would be to fit an extra Deans socket in the ESC positive wire, and fix that to the chassis. Fit a short piece of ESC/battery wire between the 2 pins of a Deans plug. Fit the plug to complete the circuit, remove it to switch off.
