| Very odd Glitch problem
Could use some help from you electronic pros out there. So just finished puttin together my Bully today, took it out for a little test run and noticed when I reversed at part throttle, my truck would get random glitches to full throttle. I did a bit of diagnostics and found that this only happens when the rear axle is in reverse with any amount of load on it. If I engage front dig, so only the front motor is working, no problem If I hold the truck in the air, no problem When going forward with any combination, no problem The setup FXR Tekin 45t X2(both have capacitors soldered on) CC BEC Punk Dig MX-3 Also I tried the truck with my DX3S, and the problem is fixed. But if it was purely a radio problem, I don't know why it would only happen with the rear motor. Any Ideas? |

How is the CC BEC wired in? Straight to the receiver or to the servo?

If possible, try running the power wires straight to the servo.

not gonna do something like that tonight, most of my tools in the garage. I did try disconnecting the servo though, same problem.

How old is the receiver? The reason I was saying to do that is that some of the older spektrum receivers dont like the higher voltage. Also, you could try disconnecting the BEC and putting the red wire back in from the ESC. If it quits, you either have a bad BEC or the receiver doesnt like the voltage like I stated earlier. | |

Swap the ESC ->motor wires to see if it's an ESC/Rx problem or a motor problem.

Hooked the rear wiring up to the front, no problem. So it's looking like a motor problem. Just odd that when I use my spektrum radio, doesn't seem to have any glitching. Thanks guys... Guess I'll invest in a couple nice handwounds next. |

Maybe a sticky brush, sparking and causing interference?

I checked the brushs and comm. Both looked pretty good, although I have installed some heavy springs on both motors. You think that may be enough to do it? It did seem like more of an interference problem to me. Since it changed with the 2.4ghz radio. |

Most ESC's have a filter to prevent glitching, but that (supposedly) makes the ESC less responsive, so tekin didn't put one on the FXR. I bet your bad motor is making RF in the 75mhz band you're using, causing the glitch. The spektrum radio is too high frequency, almost nothing on an RC car will make noise that high frequency. Beyond that, all the 2.4 ghz RX's I know of will only except signals from the TX it's bound to. A new motor may fix it. But you'll probably fight it again somewhere down the line. Either step up to a 2.4ghz TX with a 3 position 3rd channel or pick up a different ESC, I know the mamba max will work better. I bet someone would even trade you that FXR for a mamba max. The MM is a sturdier, smoother ESC anyways. |
