| double motor crap
I have a two part question. If the motor smells burnt but runs should i scrap it anyway? The motor gets extremly hot after mabye 30 seconds of running, is it the motor or other parts? The questions are for different motors. Yesterday sucked bad |

Burning smells are bad. The first one is probably toast. The second one could be on its way. Pull the motors and make sure everything in the drivetrain spins like it should. If something is dragging or bound up, it will put too much stress on the motor and fry it. Also make sure you don't have your gear mesh set too tight. |

seems like it has a short...when i first wound a motor I didn't connect one of the tabs on the comm correctly and the motor got really hot really fast...so I would say that the motor is probably bad and its cheap enough to buy a new one...plus the heat is going to effect the magnets...might not be enough to kill them but compared to a fresh motor you will have less torque and less drag brake available. I would scrap them and buy new. peace of mind
