It would be your ESC that has an internal BEC. To disable the internal BEC of the ESC, just pull out the red wire.

Receivers don't have an internal BEC - they get their power from the BEC in the ESC, or from an external BEC or battery. Simplest way to connect a CC BEC is to pull the red wire from the ESC > receiver plug, then connect the CC BEC to a spare port on the Rx - doesn't matter which port, as the red and black wires (+ and -) are common to all the port |

I know that I have a Futaba receiver that has the same thing on it-- not exactly sure what it means. I know it worked great when I had it hooked straight up to my 7.4V 6cell NiMh.

I switched to this rx/tx so it would be more easy for my kid to drive. My servo lasted all of one min. thats why I want to use a cc bec.

It means you can use the bec from your esc to power the rx instead of having a separate rx battery pack hooked up to it. I would suggest the ccbec over using the esc's bec, Don't forget to pull the red wire if you go this route |

Is this the one that you are asking about: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJM12&P=7 ?? I cant find any additional info about it on the Traxxas website...and I've never heard of the Rx having a BEC.... |

Pull the red wire from the ESC to Rx plug, and run red and black wires from the battery direct to the "batt" port on the Rx. Should work fine without an external BEC, as this Rx is designed to run 2 servos (one for steering, one for the mechanical speedo). I'm guessing that it was the red ESC to Rx wire that confused the BEC and blew your servo. Last edited by clockworks; 11-24-2009 at 12:59 AM. | |

So lets see if I understand. I need to clip the red wire going to the rx from the esc. Then to wire in the cc bec I need to run the signal wire from the servo to the rx. Then the + and - from the cc bec to the servo. Ten take a + and - to the battery port on the rx.

Sounds about right. The important thing is that everything gets power from just one source. |
