| Moa: Front motor turns before rear motor
Just put in a Sidewinder and dig switches (as seen in the Berg sticky) in my Redcat Rs10 and noticed if I lift the rig off the ground and give it very slight throttle that the front motor will spin before the rear. I have to give it a bit more throttle before the rear kicks in. Is this common? And how do I get rid of it? I didn't notice if this was happening prior to adding the esc and dig.

do you have it wire to the front motor first? check the timing on the two motors and make sure they are the same...check them with a meter

Could be a number of different things. Motor timing off between the two, transmitter settings, sticky brushes on the rear, perhaps different wiring. Remember electricty follows the path of least resistance. Without pictures, my guess at a solution would be to check your transmitter settings for the dig channel. Might need adjustment. Also, try having the same length wire running from the dig to the motors. Try and keep everything equal. Next, check the brushes on the rear motor, replace if necessary.

If its only a slight diff when the rig is off the ground and you dont notice it while driving I wouldnt worry about it. Without 2 esc's you can tune that by adjusting resistance by using different gauge wire to the motors..

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to check it out. The wires are very close to being the same length so I don't think that's it. I've read about running the wires to the rear motor first. If all else fails I'll go that route. Quote:
I'm certain this is it. I'll post the outcome after adjusting it. | |

Bingo! The mesh was it. Thanks Trace and all for the input. Hopefully this thread will help someone else in the future.
