Default Cutting the power wires on a Novak Rooster

I've managed to cram everything I needed to under the hood of my Rubicon scaler. Things are extremely tight though and the power wires from the Novak Rooster ESC are way too long. I was reading the literature that comes with the Rooster and they say not to remove the power connectors or it will void the warranty(?).

Is it ok to shorten them? I literally need to remove about 6" from each to fit things together. I don't really have a choice but I'd hate to think I'm voiding the warranty should I need it. I honestly don't know if I even have a warranty on it since I bought it second hand.

Opinions?

This would be a FIRST for novak if true... I've added or changed EVERY plug/connector on every novak ESC I've had over the last 10-15 years... I've only had to send in ONE esc and novak didn't even ask me to remove my connectors before sending it in... they just cutt off the deans plug and 3.5mm bullets and mailed them back with my NEW replacement ESC

I see NO reason to not cut the wires and add what ever connectors work best for you... as long as you do it correctly you cannot harm the ESC.

Taken from the rooster manual posted on novak's web site...

If you are going to use connectors on the ESC’s motor wires, we highly
suggest Dean’s Ultra plugs or Novak’s low-loss connectors--do not use

crimp type connectors. Note: If you plan to change the battery connector, be
aware that this can void the warranty if not done properly.

Thank you. I was wondering if perhaps I misread things and what they were talking about was removing the wires completely from the ESC by melting the solder on the unit and removing them.

Much appreciated.
