Talking 4 wheel steering

ok here is the deal i would like to know:

1. is it possible to run front steering on left of the swich rear on the right and both but like that / / not like crab driving in the center? right and left dont matter.

\ \

2. if yes how?

3. how do you wire the servos for 4ws do you just split the out put from the receiver or you need a special recever?

thanks.

i have no radio for now i'll buy it depending on what i need.

i want a 3 way switch that will work like far left and far right of the switch will be independant rear and front and middle will be 4ws at the same time but as front goes right rear will go left and vice versa so that way you have very short turning radius.

I think what he's wanting to do is use a normal pistol grip radio and have the 3 way switch "select" witch set of tires the wheel steers. Unlike what most guys do with a spring to center switch conroling the rear steer only.

Example: with the switch up the wheel would steer the front tires, with the swith down it would steer the rear tires. With the swith in the middle would be 4 wheel steering.

I like the concept, not shure exactly how to make it work.

i was just watching some vids now and a question came to my mind :

If you use front and rear steering independantly and you point you rear wheels lets say toward right then you switch to front to play left and right so your tires grip and you go up, will your rear wheel stay toward the right if you were holding them right when activating the switch ... ?

But why not just use the same that most people use? What would the benefit be my selecting which axle the wheel turns? I see what you want and what you would need is a basically an A/B switch with 3 poles per side. A would be the front and B would be the rear. But I still don't understand why?

I'm going to be getting another 1:18th scale Nylint to do pull the front end to do a 4 wheel steering. Is there any special issues I should know about? I know that in order to have the ability to have control of it that all I need to do is to saughter (sp?) the lead wires to where the current ones are for the front axle.

Futaba 3PK can do the type of steering with just a few steps of programming. The way I set it up, is to assign a button for crwb steer and another for 4-wheel steering. Its pretty fun cause you got control at ur fingertips. Its the programming parts that can drive me crazy.

I think that I get what you are saying, did you look at this thread?

My Modded TQ3 Update - Added EPA pots In particular Post #74 and on.

On my TQ3 all I have to do is flip a toggle for my rear steer. It will stay pointed left or right till I put the toggle back in the center position.

I use a JRXS3 it is a 3 channel radio that has mixing and individual control of the rear wheels and front it just takes 5-10 seconds for the rear to fully turn B/C it is a lenear position switch. so that way you can just move the rear as much or a little as you want and you can reverse the the servo with the mixing and it will crab walk

thanks for all help

can you change the wheel control from a transmiter to an on-off-on switch?

because all i will do is take 2 receivers and 2 transmitter so i can run front steer, rear steer, rear power to neutral (with a savage reverse module with shaved gears), suspention adjustment and some thing else if i find an idea.

oh and i was playing with my two receiver transmiter set and i found out that my 3 chanel has only 2 and my 4 one has only 3. the 3 chanel is stock jato, Traxxas TQ i think, and my stock savage's. i says 3 and 4 chanels because there are 3 and 4 slots in the receiver excluding batt input.
