Default integy 35t

my integy motor came in the mail today so i installed it in my scx and set out to go drive well just a couple things i wanted to make sure are normal first in reverse only it makes a weird and fast clicking noise but only in reverse also i noticed the wheelspeed was substantially lower that with my tamiya motor is this normal

also i know i can get more speed with a higher tooth pinion atm im using a 14tooth stock scx pinion what would be a good choice for a mud truck

heres a video of what i want

i want it to be like the first truck in the video

What you are likely hearing is the set-screw on your pinion coming in contact with your spur. The motor's rotor will move just a little bit when it changes direction, which is why you only hear the noise in one direction.

Speed: What turn was your old motor? I am guessing it was a 27T, which will be faster than your 35T. You can increase speed by getting a larger pinion, 18T should speed you up nicely, but it make the motor and ESC work harder.

Hope this helps.

i have an integy 45T V11 mod motor and i have had the brushes make a VERY audible fast clicking noise in reverse! a way to find out is to hold the brush springs out, pull the brushes out and turn them over, if the noise changes sounds or stops doing it, or starts doin it forwards then you have found ur problem i also agree with the previous post, if the set screw hits it'll make a loud clicking noise also
